As Colda Constructions approaches our 10-year anniversary we look to mark the occasion with a new office fitout of our own!

We have outgrown the old space and the new design includes a boardroom, open plan workspace, kitchenette and break out area. We are excited about the opportunities the office fitout will bring us.

– A new boardroom will enable us to host clients and hold our team meetings
– The combined open plan workspace will allow enough room for our growing team, assist in collaboration across projects and help to create efficiencies in our work
– The kitchenette together with a breakout area will provide a nice space for our hardworking staff to have some downtime
– The redesign allows for storage of our supplies and vehicles to be separate to our office environment

The old office has been demolished, the new wall sheeting is up and ceiling tiles are coming soon. We are currently finalising material selection, colours and furniture.

At Colda, we thoroughly enjoy doing what we do every day – and it is fun to turn our eye to our own office and experience the benefits of what our work can bring.

We are looking forward to a more modern, functional and collaborative space.

The first 12RND Fitness in Canberra has opened in Belconnen, with over 80 locations around Australia  Colda was revved up to be part of the fastest growing boxing and strength concept in the world. The 12RND workouts replicate the physical demands of a 12 round championship bout,  with 12 x 3-minute rounds and 30 seconds rest between. The workout is done in under 45 minutes optimal for high-intensity training.

The 12RND trainers put us through our paces and we completed the gym fitout in 8 weeks. Colda installed the specialised gym flooring and a synthetic sled track. Another feature of the project was the vinyl custom made lettering for the signage, helping the first 12RND in Canberra stand out.

We project managed the shop fitout from start to finish, from its shell to completion and building approvals. The team are now set for their Grand Opening this Saturday, 15 February 6am-9am. Colda Constructions has completed the second outlet of Ms Ba Co in Garema Place Canberra City. Our clients Richard and Elsa Ho set up the second store after the success of the flagship store at Majura Shopping Centre.

After cleaning out the unused shop space we designed and constructed a vibrant, functional and quality retail fitout. Our clients are busy parents and business owners, we managed the project from start to finish including building approvals. Adam founded Colda Constructions in 2010 after years of experience in the commercial construction industry. Combining his carpentry background with his tertiary qualification from RMIT Adam has grown the business into a well established and respected company.

Q. HAVE YOU ALWAYS LIVED IN CANBERRA?

ADAM. I was born in Canberra and grew up here but I lived in Melbourne for 5 years. I did my Building Diploma at RMIT in Melbourne.

Q. WHY DID YOU PICK COLDA FOR YOUR BUSINESS NAME?

ADAM. Colda is the name of a small settlement in the town of Sondrio in northern Italy. My father’s family are from there and I’ve always liked the name and connection to my heritage.

Q. HOW DO YOU SAY YOUR SURNAME?

ADAM. It is a tricky one! It’s a bit like the town in NSW, Junee without extending the sound of the e’s too much.

Q. WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE BUILDING TREND ATM?

ADAM. Timber is timeless and will always be on trend but I’ve seen more of it being used in commercial spaces to soften concrete, tiling and glass. It looks great and the contrast is interesting.
